ABOUT OUR REPURPOSED WINE & SPIRITS BARRELS

It’s really simple - the winemaker or distiller wouldn’t have sold the barrel if it was still good for wine or spirits.

They pay over $2000 AUD for some of these barrels; trust me, the ONLY REASON they stop using them is that they are tainted- infected with something that makes the wine or spirit bad. 

A half-cut barrel from a garden centre or hardware store is just cut in half and sold - as is. Now they ‘may’ have washed it out and there ‘may not’ be anything toxic in it - BUT do you want to take the chance that your $100’s worth of fish or plants die after a time in that barrel? - we sure wouldn’t.

 

So why are ours different? - 3 words - HUMAN-SAFE LININGS.

Yes, BOUNCER lines every one of his pond barrels BY HAND with either human & animal safe grade membrane & lining paste OR, in the case of his flower barrels - a non-leaching poly membrane liner.

The ponds are watertight - the flower beds have drainage set up - and ALL TYPES of pump features and water circulation stuff can be built in at the construction stage - just email BOUNCER and ask.

* OK, yes - this extra stuff may not be as environmentally friendly as the rest of the stuff BOUNCER makes, but trust us - THE SECOND a good quality plant-based durable lining material becomes available at a realistic price, BOUNCER will be using it. THAT'S A PROMISE!
